InfoWorks CEO Jim Clayton is pleased to announce the donation of 20 laptop computers to the Wounded Warrior Project. When the company recently purchased new laptop computers for consultants, Jim knew just what he wanted to do with the computers being replaced – donate them to help wounded U.S. soldiers who may not have the means to obtain technology such as a laptop. “We contacted the folks at the Wounded Warrior Project and they were thrilled to receive the donation, and we at InfoWorks are more than happy to help out,” said Clayton.
U.S. Army Sergeants Muldoon and Earp based at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, visited the InfoWorks offices to accept the computers and expressed how much the computers will help out. Sergeant Muldoon particularly spoke of how the laptops will be especially beneficial for soldiers going to school under the Serviceman’s Readjustment Act (more commonly known as the GI Bill). The Act provides veterans with the opportunity to attend trade schools or institutions of higher learning. For veterans served by the Wounded Warrior project, these donated laptops will give them a portable option for researching and completing school assignments. The computers can also help them stay in touch with family members.
