InfoWorks, an award-winning management consulting company, announced that Alan D. Taylor has joined its team as a business consultant. Taylor, a seasoned professional with 30 years of experience, will help promote the healthcare services practice of the company and engage with clients to optimize value delivery.
Taylor’s three decades of experience include leading organizations in redesigning business processes and developing technology architectures in order to align with company financial, operational and technical objectives.
“We are privileged to welcome one of our industry’s expert process practitioners to the InfoWorks team,” said InfoWorks chairman and CEO, Jim Clayton. “Alan has a proven track record of developing new ways for healthcare companies to incorporate and leverage technology, and his expertise will be an asset as we expand the value and results we provide our healthcare services practice clients.”
Prior to joining InfoWorks, Taylor held both senior leadership and consulting positions at other healthcare, financial and insurance companies, most recently at a global consulting firm as a senior manager and expert practitioner. He also was vice president of business process and data management for MassMutual and an assistant vice president of the Operations Excellence Group at Aetna. Additionally, he held technology leadership roles with Associates Financial Services and Vanguard, including IT program lead for their electronic health record implementation.
For two decades, InfoWorks has distinguished itself as a leader in Nashville and Middle Tennessee, providing innovative business and technology consulting services.
“Problem solving is core to my nature, which has served me well in my line of work. I have seen many companies look first to technology to solve their problems, without discovering whether or not their existing processes and people are positioned to realize the full benefits and value of the technology,” said Taylor. “Without assessing the current situation and limitations—and engaging with those who will be using the technology—the underlying problem will remain unsolved. InfoWorks shares this philosophy and I’m looking forward to helping them drive value to their clients.”
Taylor is a certified Lean and Six Sigma professional and has his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute. He is a longstanding member and contributor to the American Society of Quality as well as the Project Management Institute. He is a member of Leadership Healthcare, part of the Nashville Healthcare Council. Taylor earned a Bachelor of Science in Math and Computer Science from Purdue University and a Master of Science in Communications and Information Management from BayPath University in Massachusetts.
