A non-profit mental health organization wanted to capitalize on opportunities to increase patient safety and reduce compliance risks.
Our team’s process improvement and analysis activities included rounding, observation, interviews, and data review to pinpoint areas where process improvements would most significantly impact patient safety and compliance.
Our client received a thorough analysis of all clinical services lines. We also helped them stand up a quality department and provided team training.
A non-profit mental health organization became aware of areas where improved processes could increase overall safety for their patients as well as positively affect compliance. InfoWorks was asked to gather information to inform leadership regarding opportunities for improvement related to clinical, quality, and operations as well as raise awareness on quality and compliance risks.
During rounding, observation, interviews, and data review, we were able to document specific areas where improvements could made to improve patient safety within each clinical service line. This included aligning their practice with the minimum requirements outlined by the state and/or payor contract in order to reduce compliance risks. Our approach included:
1) Completing an organizational assessment
2) Reviewing policies and procedures related to compliance
3) Conducting audits of their physical environment
4) Providing process improvement strategies related to MAT (Medication Assisted Therapy), Therapy and Case Management
5) Assisting with transformation of care documentation from paper to utilizing the EHR
Our team also provided expertise in developing a quality and compliance department, equipped them with an event analysis process, and provided training for our client’s team on how to measure and improve quality in all areas. Additionally, we advised them on regulatory and compliance vulnerabilities that were identified in our analysis.
Employing the thorough analysis we provided, our client’s newly created quality and compliance department will be able to implement process improvements that will achieve their goals of improving patient safety and minimizing compliance risks.
